Black and White Photography: Access to photographic equipment and training was largely limited to affluent, or at least middle class, white males, especially in the early days of photography. This is a great explanation for the whiteness of early photographs and photographers, but doesn’t explain why later photographs weren’t more diverse in both szarkoqski and subject.
